JULY 7th 2020 Please read below for recent updates on our approach to Covid 19. Feel free to phone our front team with any questions you may have. (204) 888-7463
We are taking the appropriate steps in returning our clinic back to our regular full service appointments and procedures. We will be busy playing ‘catch up’ with vaccine appointments, so please be patient as we accommodate routine appointments as quickly as our schedule will allow. Emergencies will be seen ASAP as always.
We will be opening the clinic on a staggered approach while still strongly promoting a ‘closed-door’ policy. However, we can now accommodate those who wish to enter. Being a smaller clinic and the nature of our work, it is difficult to maintain social distancing in our reception and examination rooms. Therefore, we will have new rules in place!
1. If you are purchasing food or prescriptions, we will continue to take payment over the phone and bring the products out to you, curbside. If you need to pay by debit or cash, please phone from outside and we will invite you in. We have Plexiglas dividers up to shield you and our staff. However, we will now require a face mask upon entering the clinic.
1. If you don’t mind, we are still encouraging you to remain in your vehicle while your pet is being examined. We have been functioning this way since March 24th 2020 and your pets have been doing exceptionally well ... even those who are normally quite stressed here!
How it will work:
Our team will call the day prior to your appointment for a reminder. At this time you are given the option of joining your pet for their examination, or choosing to remain outside for the appointment. As previously stated, we are still strongly recommending a ‘closed-door’ approach to limit exposure in our facility.
Please read if you are choosing to remain outside, and wish to continue with our previous closed-door approach:
Once you arrive, we meet you at the door to accompany your pet into the clinic. You return to your vehicle and remain in the parking lot.
At the appointment, your pet is meeting with our doctors who are efficiently moving though their examination and needed procedures. Once completed, our doctors will call you and review their exam findings. Costs and procedures will be gone over with you prior to your appointment by one of our technicians.
Once we are finished with your pets visit, the front team invoices you over the phone and greets you at the door with your pet, invoice and products! To decrease stress levels, we are doing our best to limit the time your pet is away from you.
Please read if you prefer to accompany your pet in for their appointment:
As our door will remain locked, we ask that you call the clinic to notify us of your arrival. You will be invited in to our clinic at your appointment time. One family member will be allowed to accompany your pet for the examination. You must wear a mask at all times ... please have your own as our supply is limited. Masks with isolation valves are not permitted as the particles move right through the valve! The mask must remain over both your mouth and nose for entire duration of your visit with us.
Upon entry, you will sanitize your hands with our liquid hand sanitizer provided at the entrance. We ask that you do not wear gloves to prevent cross-contamination. You will then be guided into your exam room. Please remain in this room; we are encouraging clients to stay seated until their doctor arrives. It is important that your mask remains on at all times whether or not another party is present in the room.
We will be efficiently moving through our appointments to minimize our length of contact - for the safety of both you and our team. We will not be rushing, but staying focused! (Dr T may need to be reminded not to ‘visit’ so much in her appointments!!)
1. If you have been travelling, in contact with someone who is sick, or are ill yourself - please do not enter our clinic! We will accommodate your needs from a safe distance!
2. If you are immune compromised - please do not enter our clinic. We will accommodate your needs from a safe distance!
Our goal is to slowly introduce our new normal while protecting our clients, team and community while updating the necessary health needs of your pet.
Thank you for your ongoing understanding and support -
