DR. CARA TOREVELL, DVM
VETERINARIAN - PRACTICE OWNER
Dr. Cara completed her undergraduate degree in Animal Sciences at the University of Manitoba and was accepted to the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, graduating with her Doctorate in 2006. Her enthusiasm for veterinary medicine is driven by the human-animal bond; the positive effect that loving, furry, feathered and scaled family members can have on our lives. Dr. Cara has a personal soft spot for increasing the quality of life in the aging pet population and her special interests include preventative medicine, surgery and dentistry. She enjoys spending time with her son Nate, two cats, two spoiled pups, and bearded dragon named Wilfred. Dr. Cara is looking forward to meeting you and your four-legged family members!
RACHEL, RVT
REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNOLOGIST
Rachel graduated from her veterinary technician program in 2001 and has worked in multiple clinics throughout her career. She took off a year in 2008 to spend time in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, teaching computer skills to local hospital staff and assisting in administration. Rachel brings a diverse outlook to veterinary medicine. When she is not cuddling your babies at the clinic, she is spending time with her own 7 pets and family. You may also find her reading at a coffee shop or crocheting at the park.
BRENDA, RVT
REGISTERED VETERINARY TECHNOLOGIST
Brenda graduated with honours from Red River College in 1999 and has been working in small animal medicine ever since. She joined Crestview Veterinary Hospital in July 2025.
Brenda has a special interest in geriatric medicine. When not at work, she enjoys spending time with family, her 2 dogs and 2 guinea pigs.
DEBY
VETERINARY OFFICE ASSISTANT
Deby moved back to Winnipeg from Vancouver after finishing an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences and joined the team in 2021. Deby is a full-time dog mom to Zsa Zsa Gabor.
SARAH
VETERINARY OFFICE ASSISTANT
After spending far too long preparing for a career which didn’t suit her, Sarah finally found her calling helping animals in 2023. After working with the Winnipeg Humane Society for several months, she joined the team at Crestview Veterinary Hospital in January 2024. She is engaged to her other half, and they spend their free time singing Disney duets together and playing with their two beautiful (albeit a little crazy!) kitties, Totoro and Elsa.

MICKAYLA VETERINARY OFFICE ASSISTANT After graduating from the Veterinary Office Assistant program at Robertson College, Mickayla found her passion, working with animals and people! Mickayla comes to Crestview Veterinary Hospital with 5 years of industry experience and counting. She enjoys the outdoors and spending time with family and her fur babies, Zeus and Conk. |
JASMINE
VETERINARY OFFICE ASSISTANT
As a dedicated veterinary assistant, Jasmine takes pride in supporting both our team and our patients to ensure every visit is as smooth and stress-free as possible. She graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program at Robertson College in 2019 and has been committed to providing compassionate, high-quality care ever since. With a strong focus on patient comfort and clinic efficiency, Jasmine works hard to create a positive experience for both pets and their owners. Outside of work, she enjoys baking and often brings her creativity and attention to detail from the kitchen into the clinic.
KATERYNA
VETERINARY OFFICE ASSISTANT
After moving to Canada, Kateryna joined the clinic in April 2025 and is now working toward validating her veterinary degree here. Always curious, she loves popular-science books and anything that helps her grow professionally. She’s also passionate about women’s rights and feminist activism. When she’s not at work you’ll find her watching detective and true-crime series or enjoying active time in nature.
TRYGGVI
VETERINARY OFFICE ASSISTANT
Tryggvi has a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Bioscience from the University of Saskatchewan and spent three summers working as a wildlife rehabber. He’s passionate about animal welfare and loves learning about how animals function- from their physiology and anatomy to their behavior. In his free time, he enjoys going to the gym, playing video games, and reading.
